Workshops

iGEM Greece 2017 is an interdisciplinary research students’ team that aims to develop an innovative diagnostic and treatment method for large intestine cancer while participating in a competition on synthetic biology iGEM (international Genetically Engineered Machine). In this InnovationLab in cooperation with Triple Helix AUTH, you will meet the greek team of the iGEM competition and participate in interactive workshops that will introduce you to the field of bioinformatics and the designing of biological experiments. The team’s dry lab invites you in a discussion of its ideas as well as a demonstration of the tools and methods it uses regarding the design of a genetic circuit that distinguishes between malignant and benign cells. The team’s wet lab will set a simulation on how to design experiments for a project of synthetic biology and a brainstorming on the different uses of the relative technology on the field. (eg. CRISPR/Cas9, Gibson assembly).
